Having lost access to the Facebook ID this blog is linked too I have moved my blog yet again,

And now I’m just being greedy

Back from the Dr’s, I have pages of info about diverticulitis, I have a sick note for 2 weeks and then I have to go back to see how I’m doing, there is some concern about the weakness & wobbly legs, the Dr doesn’t think it’s connected to my bowel problems, what joy.

I also have developed a rash in one armpit & it smells unpleasant, it seems I have now developed a fungal infection, probably cause by the massive amount if antibiotics I have taken, hey ho, lets see how many more bits of me can drop off/go bad.

Last night I slept right through again and in my bed, not in the spare room, the bed is much more comfortable.

I b’aint dead, updated

But my laptop is very poorly, my SIL is hoping to resuscitate it, in the mean time I have borrowed my DD’s laptop.

Unfortunately I seem to have lost access to MSE & Facebook, neither of these recognise my login, I’m hoping this blog post will work and enable me to update everyone.

I went to hospital on Friday to have a colonoscopy, to have this procedure it is necessary to swallow 2 large doses of laxative during the day before the hospital visit. I took the first dose between 1 and 2 o’clock and the 2nd dose between 6 and 7 o’clock in the evening. Unfortunately the first dose didn’t start to work until 9pm so I got very little sleep and therefore had plenty of time to worry myself silly about the forthcoming procedure and its outcome.

I have a huge bruise on the back of my hand where the anesthetic was introduced none too gently and I spent most of the afternoon after the hospital visit asleep.

It seems I have diverticulitis, which should be manageable with diet and/or medication, a biopsy was also taken and the results will be through in 2 to 3 weeks.

I was saying about the 1st laxative taking a few hours to take effect, well the 2nd dose didn’t work until about 5 o’clock, I’d been warned that when the camera was shoved up my bottom they also add large quantities of air, this means that you are encouraged to pass wind frequently after the procedure. This is fine until you combine this with the delayed effect of the laxative. Lets just say that the toilet floor has now been scrubbed and bleached to within an inch of its life

Hospital Tales Part 1

In some ways being in hospital was like being at work, thousands of £££££££££ worth of whizz bang technology and none of it works!

The nurses do the obs pushing a pole on wheels, the pole has a basket and a console attached to it. the console shows temperature,  oxygen levels and blood pressure, there is a small touch pad that the nurses use to upload the results to the patients records. Only most of the touch pads don’t work, so the nurses end up writing everything down on paper towels and waiting til they can access the computer at the nurses station.

Sunday, I made

A fish pie, well mainly I sat at the table & directed operations, it was delicious.

DD visited with the children, we sent them home with loads of veg as we have a glut & I’m not up to keeping on top of it yet.

A friend also dropped a foam cushion over for me, I’ve lost so much I have a bony bum, and was finding it hard to sit comfortably.
